Katy has worked with varying industries over the last 13 years including tourism, hospitality, retail, education, finance, and non-profit. She obtained a B.A. in Communication Studies from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and returned to the Eastern Shore to be near her family. She is from Greenbackville, but has resided on Chincoteague since 2009. Katy started kb foto+design in 2012 and continues to photograph newlyweds and families all over the Shore. She also began working for the Mar-Va Theater Performing Arts Center in Pocomoke City, Maryland in 2012. Both businesses have grown drastically in that small amount of time. She is involved with the Jesse Klump Memorial Fund and serves as the president of the Pocomoke Area Chamber of Commerce.
The kb foto+design studio and Simplistic Design office are located on Eastside in a renovated section of her grandfather's garage, known to many locals as Bill's Garage.
In her free time (when she finds it), she enjoys concerts, her animals, her trike, traveling, and learning new things.
